Wintermute founder: Will vote against the Aave "governance control" proposal

Wintermute founder Evgeny Gaevoy posted on X that AAVE holds a significant position in Wintermute's portfolio, and neither he nor Wintermute holds equity in Aave Labs.

Regarding the currently hotly debated "brand control" voting issue, Evgeny stated that there is a clear expectation misalignment between AAVE Labs and a considerable portion of AAVE token holders on "what value should be captured by whom." If this misalignment is not resolved, the token will struggle to continue its development. However, the current escalation of conflict is both unnecessary and highly destructive.

It is meaningless to directly choose a course of action without clarifying specific execution details, and there has been a lot of politicization surrounding this vote. Although Stani's communication has indeed been lacking, the criticism from the other side seems excessive and has directly harmed the token price, which is not something that should be rushed into.

For these reasons, Wintermute will cast a vote against this proposal, but it does genuinely hope that AAVE Labs can take this issue seriously and thoughtfully consider how to address the token value capture problem in the long term.
