Gate officially launches Gate Layer, optimizing the GT token economy to accelerate the upgrade of ecological infrastructure

ChainCatcher news, the cryptocurrency trading platform Gate has officially launched the new Layer 2 network Gate Layer, while simultaneously optimizing the token economy of its platform token GT.

Gate Layer is built on the industry-leading OP Stack to create a high-performance Layer 2 network, fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), and secured by GateChain as the main chain settlement layer. It also enhances network stability through the GT staking mechanism. In terms of performance, Gate Layer supports over 5,700 transactions per second, with a block generation time of just 1 second, and transaction fees significantly lower than most existing Layer 2 networks; on the cross-chain level, it achieves multi-chain interoperability through LayerZero. In terms of ecosystem development, Gate Layer is based on the "high-performance Layer 2 network" as its infrastructure, anchoring the core strategy of "All in Web 3," and launching three core tools: Perp, Gate Fun, and Meme Go, precisely covering users' "full-scenario needs from asset issuance, trading to value creation." GT will serve as the only Gas token for Gate Layer, expanding its application scenarios while continuing the "regular burn + on-chain burn" dual deflationary mechanism, with a cumulative burn rate reaching 60.18%. Meanwhile, GateChain has been upgraded to v 1.2, further enhancing scalability and security.
