It is understood that the Altcoin Season Index is a new feature launched by CoinMarketCap to measure the popularity of altcoins, which counts how many tokens among the top 100 assets have outperformed BTC.

If this value is around 75, the market is more likely to be in an Altcoin Season; if it is below 25, it is more likely to be in a Bitcoin Season. Since February 27, this index has been below 25 for 12 consecutive days.
