Qatar LNG expansion project postponed until the end of the year, global supply tightness may continue

According to Jinshi News, Qatar Energy has postponed the commissioning of its multi-billion dollar liquefied natural gas (LNG) expansion project to the end of this year, which may lead to a prolonged tight supply situation in the global market. Sources revealed that the commissioning date for the project will be delayed from the originally planned third quarter to the fourth quarter, and it may even be postponed until 2027. This project is part of a record wave of new supply expected to flood the market by the end of this decade.
