Bybit CEO appeared at Abu Dhabi Finance Week, elaborating on the path to mainstreaming cryptocurrency

During the Abu Dhabi Finance Week in 2025, the FinTech Abu Dhabi Summit (ADFW 2025) featured a panel discussion led by Bybit CEO and co-founder Ben Zhou, who explored the future of global payments and financial infrastructure. The discussion, titled "Invisible Payments, Visible Growth," brought together industry leaders such as Tabby CEO Hosam Arab and Google Managing Director Mark Rydquist.

Ben Zhou emphasized the advantages of cryptocurrency for payments: "Cryptocurrency enables modern, round-the-clock synchronous payments." He pointed out that vendors are increasingly leaning towards real-time settlements, and cryptocurrency offers greater accessibility and on-chain transparency, which can reduce friction in the global payment system.

Regarding the security incident in February 2025, Ben candidly stated that it was the "ultimate test" of Bybit's operational discipline, noting that the speed at which cyber attackers transfer funds across chains often exceeds traditional tracking processes, highlighting the importance of industry collaboration. He also introduced collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing information sharing and response speed among exchanges to strengthen the collective defense against complex cross-chain attacks across the industry.
