Bitfury makes a strategic investment of $12 million in the decentralized AI computing network Gonka AI

According to Forbes, the cryptocurrency mining company Bitfury Group has recently completed a $12 million strategic investment in the decentralized AI computing network Gonka.ai, subscribing to 20 million GNK tokens at a price of $0.60 per token. This investment is the first public investment by Bitfury following the establishment of its $1 billion ethical AI fund, indicating that traditional mining companies are systematically laying out their plans in the decentralized AI infrastructure sector.

According to previous reports, Gonka had completed $18 million in financing in 2023, with investors including Coatue Management, a backer of OpenAI, Slow Ventures, K5, and several partners from Insight and Benchmark. Early builders also included several well-known industry institutions such as 6 Block, Hard Yaka, Gcore, and Hyperfusion.
