ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, security company Koi Security disclosed that the cybercrime gang GreedyBear has stolen over $1 million in cryptocurrency through hundreds of fake wallet extensions, malware, and scam websites.

Koi Security found that the gang has released over 150 malicious extensions in the Firefox browser add-on store, disguised as cryptocurrency wallets such as MetaMask, TronLink, Exodus, and Rabby Wallet. The attackers used Extension Hollowing techniques, first creating legitimate extensions that passed market review, and then transforming them into malicious programs.
