White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett stated that it would be "irresponsible" for the Federal Reserve to set a rate target plan for the next six months in advance, emphasizing the importance of following economic data.
Hassett said in an interview with CNBC on Monday, "The responsibility of the Fed Chair is to observe the data, adjust policy, and explain the reasons behind their actions, so if someone says 'I will do this in the next six months,' that is indeed irresponsible."
