The CEO of Dunamu, the parent company of Upbit, Wu Jingshi, issued a public apology today regarding the abnormal withdrawal incident on the Solana chain that the platform encountered. He acknowledged that this security incident stemmed from internal security management deficiencies and emphasized that there is "irrefutable responsibility." Wu Jingshi stated that Upbit has reported the incident to the relevant authorities in accordance with regulations and has initiated a comprehensive investigation.

After discovering abnormal withdrawals from Solana-associated wallets, the team immediately conducted a thorough inspection of the relevant network and wallet systems, and found that some on-chain transactions on the platform exposed a security vulnerability that could lead to predictable private keys, which has now been urgently fixed. According to official disclosures, the total locked loss is approximately 44.5 billion Korean won, of which user asset losses amount to about 38.6 billion Korean won, and approximately 2.3 billion Korean won in related tokens have been successfully frozen; an additional approximately 5.9 billion Korean won belongs to the platform's own assets. Upbit has fully covered user losses with its own funds and suspended all digital asset deposits and withdrawals to track outflowing assets and continue freezing measures.

Upbit stated that it is undergoing a comprehensive reconstruction of the wallet system, which will be reopened for deposits and withdrawals after stability verification. Meanwhile, the company has initiated a company-wide security review mechanism, using this incident as an opportunity to further strengthen its security infrastructure and will maintain transparency in disclosing publicly available information in the future. Wu Jingshi emphasized that "there is no absolute security," and Upbit will comprehensively enhance its protective systems to prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
