ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi Data, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins stated on Friday that the agency will advance a comprehensive reform plan for investor information disclosure rules for publicly traded companies. Just in the same week that the SEC announced this news, Trump posted on social media that the SEC should change the frequency of financial report disclosures for publicly traded companies from "quarterly" to "semi-annually."
Atkins stated, "Now is the right time to examine various channels for information acquisition, methods of information dissemination, and 'what type of disclosure meets actual needs'." He pointed out that many investors obtain more information from "earnings call meetings" than from quarterly financial reports. Additionally, Atkins agreed with Trump's viewpoint—Trump had criticized that "the quarterly reporting system causes corporate executives and management to overly focus on short-term profits."
