BitGo obtains BaFin license extension in Germany to provide regulated cryptocurrency trading services in Europe

ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, digital asset infrastructure company BitGo has obtained an extension of its license from the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) in Germany to offer cryptocurrency services to European investors.
BitGo stated that its local subsidiary BitGo Europe can now provide custody, staking, transfer, and trading services. Institutional clients can also access over-the-counter (OTC) trading desks and multiple liquidity venues. BitGo first obtained the MiCA license in May 2025, allowing it to provide specific services to traditional institutions and crypto-native companies in the EU. This extension is based on the MiCA license previously obtained by BitGo, adding trading functionality to its existing custody, transfer, and staking services.
