At the BLS he worked on inflationary indexes in the Producer Price Index program before moving to the budget office and overseeing day-to-day execution of a USD $600M+ annual budget. He also led special projects including a ten-person team that worked with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to establish a joint survey on small business credit conditions. Ian also spent time as a product manager for an insurtech start-up, Bowtie Life Insurance. At Bowtie he led the launch of a digital microinsurance product that aimed to increase coverage among foreign workers from the Philippines and Indonesia who moved to Hong Kong for employment. Ian received his bachelor’s degree from the American University in Washington, D.C. and his MBA from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
