Chris is a Partner at Haun Ventures. Chris started his career at Morgan Stanley and later joined Hellman & Friedman, an investment firm with over $80 billion AUM. It was there that he discovered open source, which led him to join GitHub in 2015. At GitHub, Chris was involved in numerous initiatives, including helping to start and lead the Strategic Finance and Business Operations teams. After the GitHub acquisition, Chris became a Partner at Index Ventures to invest in the next generation of community-led businesses. Chris is originally from Korea and has a B.S. in Foreign Service for International Economics from Georgetown University.

Prior to joining a16z, he was nominated by both Presidents Obama and Trump to serve as commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) .Prior to his appointment to the CFTC, Brian was the Founder and Managing Principal of Saeculum Capital Management, LLC.Brian received his B.S. from Duke University and M.B.A. from Georgetown University.

Kathryn Haun

Katie Haun is the CEO and Founder of Haun Ventures, a $1.5 billion venture capital fund focused on web3. Previously, she was a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, and co-chaired its three crypto funds. Additionally, she serves on the Coinbase board as its first independent director, where she chairs its Nomination and Governance Committee and is a member of its Compensation Committee. She has testified before both houses of Congress on the intersection of technology and regulation, and has taught at Stanford's GSB.
