Chris Cashwell is the Engineering Team Lead at Firechain and former Founder & Lead Developer at Volatility Protocol, Blockchain & Decentralized Finance Nerd. I'm a serial entrepreneur, software engineer and technical consultant with a proven track record of leading distributed teams to design, develop and launch products that win. For the better part of the last decade I've been deeply focused on digital currency and distributed ledger technologies, mostly Bitcoin and Ethereum. I've built all sorts of software, including foundational contributions to popular blockchain projects, financial analytics tools, algorithmic trading systems, web and mobile apps for startups and enterprises, and distributed systems that touch millions in the US and abroad every day. I've contributed to innovations in diverse spaces ranging from solar energy to algorithmic asset management. Along the way, I've helped secure numerous US government contracts and grant awards, as well as more than $300 million in private capital. TLDR: I've worked with teams of all sizes to build robust, scalable solutions to a variety of real-world problems. I love working in crypto and building future-focused financial services, but I'm a sucker for traditional equities and options trading strategies. I only work with people who are smarter than me. And I’m kind of obsessed with trying to fix things that feel broken to me. Primary areas of focus: blockchain and digital ledger technology, cryptocurrency, information security, analytical risk modeling, algorithmic asset management and technical analysis.
